Second Vibess: Redefining Fashion, One Piece at a Time

For co-owners Camille Steverson and Caitlyn Fitzpatrick, Second Vibess began with a shared love of thrifting and a desire to make secondhand shopping more accessible.

As they explored the resale world, they noticed how much high-quality clothing was being discarded every day. That realization sparked their creativity and inspired them to begin upcycling and designing their own pieces, blending streetwear with romantic influences and nature-inspired themes.

The Power of Community in Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids has shown us the true power of community. Collaboration, support, and connection have opened doors and amplified our work in ways we couldn’t have imagined.

Through Second Vibess, we hope to inspire others to pursue their passions, embrace sustainability, and celebrate individuality, one thoughtful choice at a time.

A Business That Started in College

Our journey began at Grand Valley State University, where we were roommates who spent countless hours thrifting together. What started as a hobby slowly evolved into something bigger during college.

The turning point came with our first pop-up shop. The response was overwhelming, and it gave us the confidence to pursue Second Vibess full-time.

After a year of pop-ups and markets, we opened our brick-and-mortar space. We intentionally designed it to be more than a store, it’s a hub for events, creativity, and community connection.

Fashion With Intention

Sustainability and self-expression remain at the heart of everything we do. Our goal is to make conscious fashion more accessible while encouraging people to rethink how they shop.

Rather than striving for perfection, we emphasize small, thoughtful choices. Through transparency and education, we hope to bridge the gap between ethical creators and consumers, helping people better understand the true cost of clothing and the value of secondhand fashion.

The Vision Behind Scraps

Our ArtPrize project Scraps embodies this mission. The two-part immersive experience combined an art exhibition with a sustainable fashion show.

By transforming discarded textiles into interactive art and one-of-a-kind designs, we demonstrated how creativity can reduce waste while inspiring more conscious consumer habits.

Building as Young Women Entrepreneurs

Being young and women entrepreneurs has been both challenging and deeply rewarding.

Our biggest piece of advice: start, even if it isn’t perfect. Growth comes from action, consistency, and learning along the way. Small, intentional steps can lead to meaningful impact.

We hope to inspire others to pursue their passions, embrace sustainability, and celebrate individuality, one thoughtful choice at a time.
